This painting of a sea serpent was the second in the series of small underwater scenes that I painted. The world underneath the water fascinates me. It is unnatural for humans to be there, so to me it is like a fantasy world. I went on a trial scuba dive once on Great Barrier Reef, Australia and was absolutely awestruck by the colours and patterns of the fish, corals and underwater creatures. Unfortunately I don't dive because my ears hurt, (even equalising like mad), so these underwater scenes are all painted from photos.
